Hilary Binder, nata a Washington D.C. negli Stati Uniti il 14 agosto 1965, è musicista, attivista di comunità anarchiche, curatrice d'arte e cuoca di cucina vegan e vegetariana.
Negli anni ‘80 ha avuto esperienze di musica classica (ha studiato per quattro anni violino e pianoforte), classic rock, early go-go (un genere tipico di Washington DC), punk e hardcore. E’ vissuta con la cultura straight-edge (da cui discenderà la sua scelta vegetariana) e altre scene DC punk che comprendevano Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Holy Rollers e molti altri.
A 19 anni si è trasferita a San Francisco all'apice dell’esplosione punk della West Coast. Qui ha trascorso 10 anni, muovendosi e protestando, e in qualità di batterista, forma i Forethought, jazzcore trio insieme ai due musicisti punk Tommy Strange e Chris Rankin. Dopo lo scioglimento della band, ha formato il duo strumentale basso/batteria Sabot con Chris Rankin. Nel 1993 la band si è trasferita a Tábor, nella Repubblica Ceca per avviare il CESTA (Cultural Exchange Station in Tabor), centro d’arte internazionale. Fonda anche il quartetto a cappella femminile Kačkala. Intanto sono stati in tour come Sabot in tutto il mondo, anche in paesi fuori dalle rotte punk come Pakistan e Cina [1], autoproducendo album, libri e film.
Nel 2013 si trasferisce in Abruzzo, Italia, per iniziare il nuovo laboratorio di arte internazionale e scienza: INVIZIN.
Nel 2016 ha iniziato a cantare con i “polemica”.
Nel 2017 forma i RIOT, trio impro con Giulio Marino (“polemica”) al basso e Teo Pace agli strumenti a fiato.
